ART ADVENTURES @ KURUKSASTRA

KURUKSASTRA
23rd to 25th March 2012

Suganthi and Susi boarded a bus to Trichy, then Tanjore and stepped into SASTRA. The rangeela rangoli in front of the temple for Ugathi welcomed us.After the registration process, and quick refreshments, we rolled our sleeves to 'jump' into the events...

Chit Vihar is the place where all art 'adventures' took place. All materials and stationery were provided by the organising team and that was sooooo nice of them :) (ellamae osii)

Pencil Sketching  'Campus Quarto'
Susi was asked to capture anything or anyplace from the campus, where Sus tried a collage of several places and people. Though the end product seemed kiddish, it fetched 3rd place ( The first 2 places were really superb...the depth and strokes were perfect)

Campus Quarto- Sketching using colour pencils
Rangoli - 'Huge Panorama'
A huge 'KS12' was drawn on the floor at the backside of Chit Vihar. It was then divided into as many blocks as the number of participating teams (30+ ) and we were told to fill the allocated box with any pattern or theme of our choice provided a the lines underneath are emphasized by some means. It was a 'constrained' place to sit/ stand and work....the event was little fun...as it was not so serious..Credits to Sugan for the white pink meron transition of colour. We just wanted to complete it off and run back to 'Canopy' (our most favorite place)     and have refreshments.

Our part of the 'Huge Panorama' - bogies on the rail
Art'Venture'
Favorite team event ...consisting of 3 timed rounds
Round one was all about creatively sketching for given descriptions ..like ...designing a conventional name tatoo, santa without beard at a bar, toothed fairy, poor old drunkard who finds money, "the wolf that cries boy!" ...funny ..and we enjoyed making cartoons

Noon
Night

Round two was hand painting..."Noon and Night"
(Susi's left hand and Sugan's right)

And the last round was superb...we were asked to make a picture of the object whose name was revealed to me alone but suganthi and I were to make one stroke each alternatively and finish the picture as early a possible  such that she finds out what it is.It came out well..in just 1.30 mins ... 'Binocular !'   shouted the audience..
And we won 2nd prize !!! Yeaaaa!!

Show Of hands
The event Sugan and Sus enjoyed the most...'The clock struck 12' was the given  topic
no brushes...only fingers! It was fun...to dip our 20 new brushes...poured....splashed and scratched the paper with colours

Show of fingers
We finally explained them that the painting is a tribute to Tsunami victims and a man is in remembrance of his lost relationships..... 1st Prize!!

And now a challenging overnight event
FLIP-O-RAMA
first time susi tried flip art and it came out well..funny is it?....
am now obsessed with flip art...wish and hope making many scenes like this ...but it takes quite large time to study the movement and make changes in every frame
This ' Start Camera Action' is made up of 100 frames...being the first time..it took nearly 4 hours to visualize the movements..and draw each frame...including small power naps in between :)
2nd prize!!

It was an ecstatic trip for us...the Pro-nite shows by Mr. Rajesh Vaidhya on the first day and Vijay Prakash- Stephen Devassy on Day 2 were awesome !
Met Viswatha, Jaya and many school friends too :)
Came back home with loads of memories !
