Kwick Sketches

Susi is fond of Pencils ..both graphite as well as charcoal

Graphite pencils..the medium that is always together like a friend
 :)

These are few kwick sketches made at leisure

Its a fun sketching all kinds of objects around :)

It all started when one day Susi was gazing at the old wall clock (old is gold ...the decades old clock shows precious 'Time') at Appa's office.

TATA Recruits Susi...or...Susi Chooses TATA

The First real Interview Experience ..on 13th September,(after mock interviews with familiar persons in college)With all enthu...Susi got ready wearing a new pink chudi (Thank u mom for making it for me :) )...and  a huge bag ...thinking that there are loads to review before I go ...Being one of the top five scorers of the class(unfortunately or fortunately?!!) ...Susi had direct interview without the Aptitude round...

Pre-Placement Talk
It was a tiny mini talk and a video show...The video was attractive...depicting TATA Group's various products from the start of the day....Tea , Titan Watch, Salt, Hotels, Tata Indica Car,Water purifier, companies .....etc.It was like revisiting an idea...it seemed to coincide what susi made the previous night :)
TATA's ventures
The  Interview
Interview for toppers was started once the Pre-Placement talk got over,We rushed to our department ....to refresh and 'make up'  :) (hi hi !! ) I carefully placed that paper in front of all the leaves in the file...

People were waiting in the main hall in the placement cell new building around which there were 7 panels.. People who came out after the encounter 'leaked'  some questions....In spite of knowing that same questions  might not be asked people hurriedly made attempts to think of suitable answers for those HR questions. And one such person said they never check file...they only see resume..This came like a thunder for me.

Now it was my moment ...a volunteer indicated a sign that i should go next into the 5th panel... Susi got in with a broad smile and shook hands and said my name ..the two panel members also did the same..but one man said that I should have told my name before shaking hands and stared and Susi smiled back...(eeeeee!)

When one person got my resume, application form and marksheet, the other person got the file...Thank God! he got it...yeeeeess!!  :)

First question was the usual cliche ...tell about urself...I started telling my name with meaning ...some 'adjectives' and 'punches' to describe academics and other activities...when the guy was about to see the paper...i started talking about art....good timing indeed ! Both of them saw the quick art about Tata's ventures and the two snaps ( velammal paati and college day dance photo) and asked in general about art and dance.

They asked questions from digital electronics (why do u have bubble in NOR gate?! multiplexer , syntax for while loop?! I would have bursted into laughter but ...Control...don't laugh susi..) Never expected such questions as i had been flipping every page of DE book and building analogy and stories for the past two days. There was another question to say the digital logic behind buzzers in quiz program ....I just tried to explain that when one buzzer gets pressed others get disabled and accepted that I do not know the name of the logic...

The person then asked generally about outside participations and reason for not having learnt other languages like java etc...i managed and they seemed quiet satisfied. They then asked some HR questions...one person asked what I would do if I don't get selected and the other man said I would cry and  laughed for his own 'joke'...and Susi 'laughed' , said a bigg No and tried to convince that I was confident and that I would come back with bigger bang  (eeeee another smile ), the other person then asked about weakness. They finally spoke about the bond and adaptability to any work location...I said yes for everything and gave instances of staying away from home.

DONE
The results were out ....at night ...delighted when the name 'Susithra' was read out...TATA recruited Susi

Susi chose TATA ''for today'' .

'I' Day!! 'I' change!!

Wanted to make this cutie girl picture with Susil's  favourite water colour pencils for a long time...
..made a pencil sketch and the sketch book waited under the dust  for me to take it again and splash some colours...till last night ...

This is an imitation from a paper cutting that Susi saved long back…
It is Independence Day special...!
Remembering our great leaders and celebrating the jubilant feeling of patriotism...it does not stop with all freedom movements and the pride about our nation.....we do face several societal problems for which we blame others ...

Susi remembers one small story that she read in The Hindu-Young World some time back...She thinks this has some relevance to this day ....to keep up our nation's pride in all spheres, What should ‘I’ do, instead of sitting back and praising our past leaders and blaming and criticizing the present leaders and others ?…
Here it says...
“ I, the Centre
Thuppan refused to respect the sanctity of public places. If he was corrected he said, “Am I the only one doing it?”At the end of the year, when the exam results were out, Thuppan had failed. His friends were unsympathetic. They asked,”Are you the only one who has failed?”
Thuppan was sad and went home. Corrupto, his father, was arguing with his friend saying bribing was not bad. He said, “Am I the only one doing it?”Thuppan‘s mother, Escapi, let the sewage seep onto the street. She too said,” Am I the only one doing it?”
Thuppan was confused. He saw Gicha sweeping away stagnant water. He said, “The main breeding source for mosquitoes is stagnation .By not allowing this to happen we may prevent diseases.”Thuppan joined him and said,
“Am I not the one who should change?
I is the most important word that we should avoid….but at times it is ‘I’ who is responsible!
Happy 'I'ndependence Day!!
'I' am the one who should Change ... 'I' am 'Independent' :)

My first Blog!!

Blogging my 1st post in my first new Blog..."Susil's Canvas"....
This is the first full portrait I ever made - oil on canvas

மௌன குருசுவாமி
Mauna Guru Swamigal
The painting was made ... in 2008
Guru! I still remember placing the painting on your place in the Matt at Periakulam in Vadakarai (Theni district) during Gurupooja...

MaMauna Guruswami lived 74 years ago as a siddhar...It is said that He was born in a village called Karungalakudi near Mellur and moved to Periakulam by Himself ... He never spoke and remained silent always..He was a personification of  simplicity... He blessed all those who came seeking  help...He used to convey words by showing the letters in a card of alphabets.

"There are 3 very old and famous temples........ Mounaguru Swamigal Madalayam is located in Periaykulam Town. "OM SHIVOGAM" is the main chanting of Swamigal."

He lived when my Grandpa was a small boy and Great Grandma and her children were fortunate to see and speak with Him till the end. Grandma says that He did miracles......people of that period have reminisced that He could predict His last day....He could tell about future...He could even exist at two places at the same time.

He has compiled his teachings in the form of a book....and it is said that his principles are close to that of Vallalar's principles....

He is still blessing us being in His Samadhi. Every year the day when he went into Samadhi is commemorated (Punarpoosam natkshatra) and Gurupooja (at 12 noon)  is done.I strongly believe ... He is immortal.
Am awaiting for the 75th Guru Pooja that is fast approaching next month :)

God is Great!
